We generally insist on a minimum of 10% deposit in the transaction, refunded when we collect the full proceeds from the buyer, as we like to have participation from our clients, just in case an alternative buyer needs to be sought whilst the goods are being shipped. (**The 10% may be taken in the form of an "unconditional" BG form an acceptable bank)
Goods or commodities must generally carry a minimum trading margin of 15%. We can clear the goods for VAT and duty prior to entry. We trade rather than finance the goods, this means that we invoice on terms and do not lend the money to buy the goods. We often discharge all the logistics as well.
Because this facility is via a transactional funder the client's balance sheet is not as important to us as it would be to a traditional bank oriented financier. We can fund purchase orders from credit worthy buyers anywhere in the world as we don't lend money, rather participate in the supply chain by purchasing goods against orders. The main principle for us is that the goods have to be pre-sold. We will always pay on Letter of Credit (HSBC SBLC) or Documentary Collection, and against inspection certificates.
